Collision Repair and Structural Restoration

Collision damage generally falls into two distinct categories, and an honest approach means treating them differently.

Cosmetic damage covers the surface—like dented panels, cracked bumpers, scraped fenders, and paint.

Structural damage goes deeper, meaning the frame or unibody has shifted. Getting this right is crucial, because it directly affects how your vehicle protects you in a future impact, not just how it looks on the outside.

We handle both. Our technicians pull frames back to factory specifications using computerized measuring, replace panels where straightening will not restore strength, and refinish with a PPG water-based paint system that is computer-matched to your factory color and produces about 90 percent lower VOC emissions than solvent paints.

One thing sets us apart from most Antelope Valley collision repair options: we also run a full mechanical and A/C repair department. Accidents rarely damage only bodywork. If the impact knocked out your suspension, cooling system, or air conditioning, it gets fixed under the same roof instead of being farmed out to a second shop. We coordinate towing too, so a car that cannot be driven still gets to us.

I-CAR Gold Class Certified, and Why That Matters

Fewer than 15 percent of body shops in the United States hold I-CAR Gold Class certification. It is not a plaque you buy once.

Our technicians retrain every year on current repair procedures for high-strength steel, aluminum, and the sensor-heavy vehicles now on the road. On a modern car, a wrong weld or a skipped procedure can quietly disable a safety system. Gold Class training exists so that it does not happen to yours.

Insurance Claims Without the Runaround

Westside Body and Paint is a preferred provider for AAA and State Farm. That means we can write your estimate, document the damage with photos, and transmit everything to your adjuster directly, which usually shortens the approval wait.

Two things worth knowing before you call your carrier. First, California law lets you choose your own repair shop. Your insurer can recommend one, but the decision is yours. Second, you only pay your deductible when the claim is through the other party’s or your own coverage; we settle the rest with the insurance company.

Need wheels while yours are in the shop? We partner with Hertz and Enterprise, and we will help set up the rental when you drop your vehicle off.

How Long Does It Take? An Honest Answer

Most cosmetic jobs like bumpers, fenders, and single panels, run a few days to a week. Structural repairs, big parts orders, or supplement approvals from your insurer can stretch a job to two or three weeks, sometimes longer. Anyone who quotes you a firm date before seeing the car disassembled is guessing.

Here is why. Initial estimates in California are written from visible damage only. Once we open the vehicle up, with your approval, we sometimes find bent reinforcements or damaged wiring that the crash hid.

When that happens, we document it, send the supplement to your insurer, and call you before any extra work starts. We also send progress updates throughout the repair, so you are never wondering where your car stands.

Our Warranty, In Plain Terms

Labor is covered for as long as you own the vehicle. That includes body, frame, mechanical, suspension, and refinish work. Parts are covered for two years or the manufacturer warranty period, whichever runs longer.

What the warranty does not do: it will not cover damage from a later accident, rust caused by unrelated damage, or normal wear. And if the structure of your vehicle is compromised beyond what can be safely restored, we will tell you it should be totaled rather than repair something we would not put our own family in. Not every car should be saved, and we would rather lose a job than deliver an unsafe one.

Yes. As a preferred provider for AAA and State Farm, we write the estimate, photograph the damage, and deal with the adjuster for you. You handle your deductible; we handle the paperwork.

It depends on the damage. Cosmetic work often takes a few days to a week. Structural repairs, backordered parts, or slow insurer approvals can push a job past two or three weeks. We give you a realistic estimate after inspection and update it if hidden damage turns up during teardown.

We use OEM parts whenever possible for fit and safety. Some policies specify aftermarket or recycled parts, and if yours does, we will explain the options before ordering anything. Whatever goes on the car is covered under our two-year-minimum parts warranty.

Yes. Our PPG water-based system is computer-mixed to your factory color code, then blended into the surrounding panels so the repair does not show. Water-based paint also cuts VOC emissions by about 90 percent compared with solvent systems.
